Iowa Public Holidays

Iowa’s state holidays are listed below for current and future years.

Iowa recognizes most federal holidays as well as the Friday after Thanksgiving. Although employers are not required to give paid time off, all employers are required to grant time off to veterans on Veteran’s Day as long as the employee’s absence would not cause a significant hardship on the employer.
