There will be only six extended holiday weekends in Vermont in 2018, fewer than in most other states. However, Vermont also has two mid-week public holidays that are unique to the state: Town Meeting Day, on Tuesday, March 5th, which is a local election day in most Vermont towns; and Bennington Battle Day, on Thursday, August 16th, marking a great Patriot victory that took place on Vermont soil.
