There will be eight long weekends in Virginia in 2018, including the weekend resulting from Lee-Jackson Day (Friday, January 18th), a holiday celebrated only in Virginia. Lee-Jackson Day celebrates the Virginian Confederate generals Robert E. Lee and “Stonewall” Jackson and, coming just before Martin Luther King Jr. Day, it creates a four-day weekend.
