Alaska State Holidays

State holidays for Alaska are listed below for current and future years.

Many of Alaska’s holidays are the same as those recognized by the federal government, however there are two holidays that are unique to Alaska. The state celebrates Seward’s Day, commemorating the signing of the Alaska Purchase Treaty in 1867. The state also celebrates Alaska Day which honors the anniversary of the transfer of Alaska from Russia after the purchase.
