All federal holidays are celebrated in California, including Labor Day, New Year’s Day and Veteran’s Day. In addition, California recognizes the day after Thanksgiving as a holiday. If a holiday falls on a Saturday, it is celebrated on the day before and if it falls on a Sunday, it is celebrated the day after.
