New York’s state holidays are listed below for current and future years.

New York celebrates most federal holidays that are recognized by the federal government including Independence Day, Memorial Day and Labor Day. If a holiday falls on a Sunday, it is observed the following Monday. On these holidays, many businesses and offices are closed.
New York also celebrates holidays specific to the state. Lincoln’s Birthday is observed on February 12 and Washington’s Birthday on the third Monday in February rather than combining the two as President’s Day.
